Red Right Hand Co. is a company devoted to producing immersive trans-media experiences via enhanced novels, or what we call an I.M.P. (Immersive Multimedia Project).  We are creating an app called Off The Page, that serves as a platform for the multimedia events triggered by various elements in the book.

The Black Chronicle is the debut project from Red Right Hand Co.  An extremely dark police procedural/thriller about one man’s unintended involvement in the FBI’s manhunt for Mister the world’s most notorious serial killer.

Dr. Jeremy Foster, a forensic psychologist and former FBI agent is brought in to decipher the enigma of a Mister copy-cat killer.  The real Mister, always the puppet master, soon learns of Dr. Foster’s involvement and abducts his teenage son in order to blackmail Dr. Foster into doing his killing for him. He must now make a choice: to take the lives of complete strangers or allow his only son to die.

The novel itself was written to stand on its own without participating in the non-traditional publishing experiences while also crafted to take full advantage of the artistic opportunities that come with transmedia story telling.

Off The Page Creative

Playing Mister is the very talented, Emmy award winning, king of horror, Bill Oberest Jr. who Veriety magazine refers to in a recent article as “the hardest working man in horror today.” And who fearmakers.com says “will one day be spoken about in the same breath as legends of horror such as Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi Robert Englund and other great legends of horror.”

The Role of Mary Stien, a retired scream queen pulled into Mister’s web of terror will be played by the outstanding Melantha Blackthorne who has amassed over fifty film and television credits and who Vengeance Magazine refers to as “the world’s sexiest, most talented scream queen.”

The Black Chronicle is a chilling experience that will not stop simply by closing the book. It will be waiting for you when you get home, terrifying you when you least expect it and have you getting up in the middle of the night to double check the locks.

The character of Mister acts as a kind of conduit through which much of the transmedia content is justified and delivered. Based loosely on the charismatic serial killers of the past, ie Ted bundy, the Zodiac killer, Charles Manson, Mister has not only captured the attention and terror of the public at large, he actively courts it. He frequently uploads videos of his crimes to the internet, mocking the police and public, and sermonizing in his own chilling way on the nature of reality and the vileness of humanity who he mysteriously refers to as ‘the no-men.’

In a time when social media permeates every aspect of our culture it is all too easy for Mister to disseminate his personal brand of propaganda to the world, and when curiosity can be sated with a simple click of the mouse, it proves too tempting for the world not to watch.

When the reader first begins the book they are able to view these videos, as well as police materials, crime scene photos, reports, psychological profiles et cetera, as though they are just another morbidly curious citizen. As they progress through the story however, Mister’s menacing gaze turns to them as though he’s become aware of them personally and they become another player in his sadistic game. The fourth wall between the reader and the book is then shattered as Mister, using the contact information the reader signed up with, begins to communicate with them via email, video, even phone calls.
